Season 2 of The Lincoln Lawyer on Netflix: Estimated Release Date and What to Expect

The Lincoln Lawyer

One of the major 2022 TV premieres, The Lincoln Lawyer quickly received a renewal thanks to a strong showing in the Netflix top 10. Here is all we currently know about The Lincoln Lawyer’s impending second season on Netflix, including a projected premiere date, production dates, and more. On May 13, 2022, the first season of the show became available on Netflix worldwide. It happened barely 18 months after Netflix decided to buy up the project, which had previously been in production at ViacomCBS (now Paramount), which finally decided against it. The programme has a 75% freshness rating on RottenTomatoes and is equally adored by viewers, earning an 80% audience rating and a 7.7 on IMDb.

Dailyn Rodriguez, famed for Queen of the South, joined the show as co-showrunner alongside Ted Humphrey, it was revealed along with the season 2 announcement (who was the sole showrunner for season 1). There will be 10 brand-new episodes in Season 2. As Mickey Haller, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo will return to the scene. There will also be comebacks from Neve Campbell (Maggie McPherson), Becki Newton (Lorna), Jazz Raycole (Izzy), and Angus Sampson (Cisco). Campbell will return, although in a lesser capacity, as will be covered below.

The top ten Netflix movies Netflix provides hourly watching data on the series, and in its first four weeks, the show received 260.53 million hours watched globally. The increase from week one to week two was 140%. Between May 8th and June 19th, The Lincoln Lawyer clocked almost 300 million hours. Raw The show has a global reach, according to Netflix top 10 data from FlixPatrol, which takes the daily top 10s from around the world. The only outliers are some of Asia and Latin America. The heat map below depicts the most popular locations for the show (where FlixPatrol has data). The darker the country, the more popular it was. According to IMDb’s MovieMeter, which counts inbound traffic to IMDb pages, the show has skyrocketed in popularity in its second week, correlating with the statistics from Netflix’s Top 10s. Season 2 of The Lincoln Lawyer: What to Expect

Neve Campbell appeared in season 1 of The Lincoln Lawyer as a series regular; however, while Campbell will appear in season 2, it will be as a “recurring guest star,” which means we will see less of the star. The announcement of Campbell’s upcoming starring role in the new ABC drama Avalon coincided with the news. David E. Kelley is the driving force behind that programme, just as The Lincoln Lawyer. Deadline exclusively unveiled the casting of two significant new faces and characters you’ll meet in season 2 prior to the start of filming.

Lana Parrilla (Why Women Kill, Once Upon a Time) will play Lisa Trammell described as “a beloved chef and community advocate struggling to keep her restaurant afloat as a predatory real estate developer threatens the neighborhood around her.”
Yaya DaCosta (Chicago Med, Our Kind of People) will play Andrea Freemann described as a cut-throat prosecutor and Mickey Haller’s undefeated courtroom rival, who is also a friend of his ex-wife Maggie.

Before we get into what we might and might not see if the programme returns for a second season, let’s quickly revisit season 1. We follow Micky Haller, who took over Jerry Vincent’s practise and cases and was immediately thrown into the fire. Throughout the first season, Trevor Elliot has been the main case. Elliot was ultimately found not guilty in court, but he died from a gunshot wound. Whether Elliot actually committed the claimed offence against him is still unknown.

After a protracted hiatus from the field, Micky returned (not without a few bumps and bruises) fully signed off and able to resume working his cases. The first season finishes with Micky being able to surf once more, but the tattooed man who has been present throughout the entire first season watches from a distance before the credits roll. Cisco also faces issues of his own. Mickey has been left to pay up the tab when he departed the Saints. What’s going to happen there? We must wait and see. As you may be aware, the first season of the Netflix series adapts the second novel in the series instead of recapping the first, as we saw happen in the Matthew McConaughey film. Although there were some changes, we mostly adhered to the original tale.

When will Netflix release The Lincoln Lawyer season 2?

The scheduled end date for filming, which will last over six months, is March 23, 2023. Season 2’s production timeline is a little bit longer than Season 1’s, although that is probably because it coincides with several holidays (Thanksgiving and Christmas). Michael Connelly provided us with confirmation on Instagram that season 2’s filming had begun on November 1st, 2022. “From the set of The Lincoln Lawyer season 2: I’m thrilled to inform we have started filming season 2,” he writes in the post. It feels wonderful to be back on the set. We are adapting The Fifth Witness this year, and the cast, crew, and writing team all have some incredible new additions. It will be fantastic! – MC”
