Simone Ashley gave fans a tempting tease ahead of Bridgerton season three, saying that the following episode will be much sexier than the last one. She exclusively revealed to E! News at Time100’s Next Gala that the upcoming chapter will “get super steamy.” Ashley said, “I’m very happy when I’m reading the scripts. When I receive them, I’ve got a beaming smile on my face.”
Phoebe Dynevor and Regé-Jean Page played Daphne Bridgerton and Simon Basset, Duke of Hastings, respectively, in the first season. Jonathan Bailey played Anthony in the second season, who was involved in a turbulent love triangle with the sisters Kate (Simone Ashley) and Edwina Sharma (Charithra Chandran). The third season of Bridgerton, which began filming earlier this year, will jump ahead and adapt Romancing Mister Bridgerton, the fourth book in Quinn’s series, which centres on the relationship between the third Bridgerton son, Colin, and Penelope Featherington.
Season three will no longer centre on the romance between her character Kate Sharma and Anthony Bridgerton, but rather on that of Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton. But don’t worry the audience will still enjoy seeing Kanthony improve. When Coughlan revealed in May that the show will instead centre on her character’s fan favourite duo, it came as a bit of a surprise to the audience because the books by Julia Quinn, on which the series is based, had previously hinted that Benedict Bridgerton’s moment would soon come.
But since season one, the Shonda Rhimes show has hinted at Colin and Penelope’s romance. However, there aren’t many clues on how Colin’s desire to be a man and a saviour would affect his relationship with Penelope. Fans should not have to wait too long to learn their destiny, as the cast is already filming the third season. The good news is that the Bridgerton-verse is growing thanks to the prequel story Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, even though a release date for Bridgerton season three is still pending.
