Although Iman Vellani is best known as Marvel Studios’ Ms. Marvel, she first became a fan of the MCU at the same time as the audience with Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man.
One of the biggest superfans of the MCU, Vellani frequently shares her knowledge and experience with Marvel fans on franchises other than her own. She continues to be as devoted to the MCU as she was when she initially hopped on board with Iron Man. She has voiced her disappointment with Black Bolt’s passing in Doctor Strange 2 and engaged in debates with fans on Reddit over the MCU’s storylines. Actually, Vellani has long admired Tony Stark as a superhero, even while she was vying to play Kamala Khan in Ms. Marvel. A few months before the premiere of her own show, she also released a DIY movie she had made with Ms. Marvel and Iron Man action figures. And today, as Halloween ushers in 2022’s spooky season, Vellani once more demonstrated how significant the MCU’s first Avenger is to her.
For Halloween, Iman Vellani dons the Iron Man suit
Yasmeen Fletcher, who plays Ms. Marvel, posted pictures of herself and co-star Iman Vellani dressed up for Halloween in 2022 on Instagram. Vellani put on her finest Tony Stark ensemble, donning a pair of black leggings, a black tank top, and a flight stabilizer on her wrist in addition to the iconic Iron Man arc reactor on her chest. She had Tony’s beard and mustache and wore a pair of aviator sunglasses on her face. Ms. Marvel cast members wore different superhero costumes as they took a photo in the mirror with a buddy. Fletcher wore a LEGO Iron Man costume (a red LEGO brick with an Iron Man mask on).
How Ms. Marvel Displays the Legacy of Iron Man
Given how often the little girl has expressed her affection for the MCU’s first hero over the past few years, it is not surprising that Iman Vellani has taken on the persona of Tony Stark. Vellani actually lobbied for more Iron Man love as the series’ six episodes for Disney+ were being shot, even though her character in her own standalone series loves Captain Marvel the most. She even reached a point where Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige playfully remarked that she went a little far, but in real life, she doesn’t hide her love for the character.
Due to Vellani’s youth, the MCU will likely continue to inspire Halloween costumes for years to come as she continues to explore Kamala Khan in upcoming tales. She should have the chance to include some Iron Man inspiration into the story in Phases 5 and 6, and it is obvious that she will make every attempt as she collaborates with Feige and the Marvel Studios crew. Ms. Marvel is available to stream in its entirety on Disney+. In the July 28, 2023 release of The Marvels, Iman Vellani will return as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel.
