Neeraj Pandey’s latest criminal drama Khakee: The Bihar Chapter has been debuted on the streaming service Netflix India. The series is Pandey’s first endeavour with Netflix India and is based on the actual account of how Bihar’s most dangerous criminal was apprehended. Khakee: Bhav Dhulia is the director of The Bihar Chapter, which is produced by Shital Bhatia through Friday Storytellers. According to a press release from the streamer, the next programme will follow the epic struggle between two men on opposing sides of the law: Amit Lodha, an Indian Police Service officer, and a notorious gang leader.

Starring Karan Tacker, Avinash Tiwary, Ashutosh Rana, Ravi Kishan, Anup Soni, Jatin Sarna, Nikita Dutta, Abhimanyu Singh, Aishwarya Sushmita, Shraddha Das, and Vinay Pathak, the series was shot in difficult conditions in Jharkhand and Bihar over several COVID-19 waves.

This early 2000s cop and crime thriller from the heartland of Bihar is a big story that we have wanted to create and share for a while, and with the help of director Bhav Dhulia and my partner Shital Bhatia’s production skills, we have tried to bring the flavour alive with the tonality and treatment,” the show’s creator said in a statement. Starring Karan Tacker, Avinash Tiwary, Ashutosh Rana, Ravi Kishan, Anup Soni, Jatin Sarna, Nikita Dutta, Abhimanyu Singh, Aishwarya Sushmita, Shraddha Das, and Vinay Pathak, the series was shot in difficult conditions in Jharkhand and Bihar over several COVID-19 waves.

The first teaser for Netflix’s upcoming criminal drama series Khakee: The Bihar Chapter, which was created by Neeraj Pandey and stars Karan Tacker, was released on Friday. They previously collaborated on the Special OPS Disney+ Hotstar series.

The trailer begins with a voiceover that transports us to a time when Bihar had both the highest crime rate and the lowest conviction rate in the nation. Over the course of the following minute, we witness police officers pursuing dangerous criminals, engaging in shootouts, political manoeuvring, and other issues. The voiceover adds, “These issues were a talking point for politicians, a difficulty for the police, but for the people, they were God’s will. Vipaksh ke liye mudda, police ke liye chunauti, aur janta ke liye… bhagwan ki marzi.”

The show is set in the 2000s, according to Neeraj Pandey, who is best known for the movies A Wednesday and MS Dhoni: The Untold Story. Bhav Dhulia directed the shooting on site in Bihar and Jharkhand for the show. Pandey joins a lengthy list of well-known Hindi language filmmakers who have Netflix projects in development. Others include Abhishek Chaubey, Vasan Bala, Raj & DK, and Vishal Bhardwaj. Avinash Tiwary, Ashutosh Rana, Ravi Kishan, Anup Soni, Jatin Sarna, Nikita Dutta, Abhimanyu Singh, Aishwarya Sushmita, and Shraddha Das also appear in the Friday Storytellers-produced film.
