After recently gaining headlines for her altercation with director Olivia Wilde during the production of “Don’t Worry Darling,” Florence Pugh is now talking up about her early professional days. Pugh revealed that several studio heads asked her to change a wide range of aspects of her appearance at the beginning of her career, including the shape of her face, her weight, her brows, and more. She spoke candidly about the pressure she experienced from influential Hollywood figures at the time. The actor preferred to be true to herself and didn’t want to undergo any significant alterations.

The Hollywood actress described her first movie, “The Falling,” in an interview with The Telegraph on Saturday as a genuine “right-place-right-time fluke.” After making her on-screen debut, she traveled to Los Angeles to take part in a competitive audition process where networks look for new talent for their upcoming TV shows. After that, she was given the role of a rising pop sensation in “Studio City.” However, things immediately took a less-than-favorable turn when Hollywood executives and their bosses began requesting that she modify the way she looked.

Pugh claims that “everything they were trying to change about me, whether it was my weight, look, face shape, or the structure of my eyebrows, it was so not what I wanted to accomplish, or the profession I wanted to work in.” She said, indicating how unprepared she was for the profession, “I’d hoped the film business would be like [my experience of filming] The Falling, but sadly, this was what the top of the game looked like, and I felt I’d made a horrible mistake.”

Pugh returned to England and tried out for Lady Macbeth when the production wasn’t picked up, which ended up being a big triumph for the actress. Fodhla Cronin O’Reilly served as producer and William Oldroyd served as director for the 2017 movie. In addition to Pugh, the film also stars Cosmo Jarvis, Paul Hilton, Naomi Ackie, and Christopher Fairbank and was based on Nikolai Leskov’s tale Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District.
