Henry Cavill discusses whether or not he would be interested in taking part in the Game of Thrones spin-off in response to recent speculation on his potential participation in season 2 of House of the Dragon. For his work on The Witcher and in the DC Extended Universe, Cavill is highly known. After a successful first season, House of the Dragon season 2 is presently anticipated to debut in 2024.

Cavill was questioned about recent reports suggesting that he would appear in both Loki season 2 and House of the Dragon season 2 during a live on-stage interview with Josh Horowitz of the Happy Sad Confused podcast. While making light of the Targaryens’ similarities to his Witcher character Geralt of Rivia, Cavill said he would not be appearing in the series. He said, “To be fair, when I was watching House of the Dragon, I was like ‘I feel like a lot of these guys could make really good Witchers.’ I think it would be cool to be in Westeros, I really do. I don’t think there’s a place for me in there, though.”

It is clear why many would think Cavill is the ideal actor to join House of the Dragon given that he apparently contributed significantly to The Witcher with his personal expertise of the fantasy series and his prior statements about his hobbies. The actor will, however, continue to have a full schedule for the foreseeable future. He’s slated to star in the upcoming spy movie Argylle, directed by Matthew Vaughn, in addition to promoting Enola Holmes 2 and The Witcher season 3. In addition, Cavill makes his DC comeback as Superman in the post-credits scene in Black Adam, produced by Warner Bros.

Despite Cavill’s recent departure from The Witcher after season 3, the actor is still one of Hollywood’s busiest and most prolific actors. It is reasonable why Cavill might not now be able to travel to Westeros given that House of the Dragon is currently anticipated to be developed in time for a 2024 release. However, given that Cavill acknowledged that he is a fan of the programme, it’s possible that he will make a fleeting appearance later in House of the Dragon’s run.
