She said, “It’s gonna be hard, of course. It’s like my high school, I grew up on the show. They’re like my school friends. You know, it’s gonna be hard. But I’m never gonna not see them again, and I’m sure Netflix will make it last for as long as it can, and it is just so much a part of my career and so formative, and I’ll always remember my experience with Stranger Things.”
Given Netflix’s interest in expanded worlds, which has led to the extension of multiple series in recent years, Brown’s suggestion that the streaming service may be considering another dive into the Stranger Things universe after season 5 wouldn’t be unexpected. The sci-fi series was also alluded to as a “franchise being born” in 2021 by Ted Sarandos, the head of Netflix, hinting at potential spin-offs, one of which might have Brown’s character as a lead. Brown’s career has been flourishing with the Enola Holmes movie series, but her remarks suggest that she would be interested in playing Eleven again after season 5.
