The Pale Blue Eye trailer has been released by Netflix. The horror-thriller film will be released in theatres on December 23, 2022, and on Netflix on January 6, 2023. The Pale Blue Eye is a suspenseful film based on the same-named novel. The story takes place at a military academy in 1830, when a young cadet’s body is discovered swinging from a rope, giving the appearance of a suicide. For horror aficionados, the fact that Edgar Allan Poe is a significant character in the plot is extremely intriguing, and we recently learnt that Harry Potter actor Harry Melling has been hired in the role of Poe. Melling, who most recently appeared on “The Queen’s Gambit,” is best remembered for his role as Dudley Dursley in the Harry Potter film series.
Cooper wrote and directed the movie, which is based on Louis Bayard’s 2006 Gothic thriller novel of the same name. Cooper has been wanting to make this movie for more than ten years. The story revolves around a young student named Edgar Allan Poe (Melling) and a string of killings that happened in 1830 at West Point, the United States Military Academy.
1830 at West Point. A cadet is discovered deceased in the early hours of a gloomy winter morning. However, when the body is discovered to have had its heart surgically removed at the morgue, tragedy turns to violence. In order to solve the murder, the leaders of the newly established military institution turn to a local detective named Augustus Landor (Christian Bale). Landor, who is hindered by the cadets’ rule of silence, enlists the aid of one of their own to investigate the case: an eccentric cadet named Edgar Allan Poe (Harry Melling), who has a distaste for the demands of the military and a fondness for poetry.
