The cast of the upcoming Marvel and Disney+ series Ironheart has reportedly been expanded to include Borat actor Sacha Baron Cohen. A source close to Deadline claims that it is all but confirmed that Baron Cohen will appear at the conclusion of the season, despite the fact that both the studio and the actor’s representatives have so far declined to comment. Along with winning an actual role, the actor reportedly underwent scans for CGI effects, which may lead to him playing a superhero or, as the rumour has it, the villainous Mephisto.
Baron Cohen is well-known for his shockingly funny character Borat, who he first introduced to viewers back in 2006. For the 2020 sequel, Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, for which he won two Golden Globe Awards, he first introduced the character to audiences. In addition to The Trial of the Chicago 7 and Les Misérables, he most recently provided the voice for the Pixar and Disney animated film Luca.
The protagonist of Chinaka Hodge’s Ironheart, played by Dominique Thorne as the 15-year-old engineering prodigy Riri Williams who attends the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, is Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes. Williams dedicates her time and advanced knowledge to building a suit of her own after being inspired by Tony Stark’s Iron Man outfit. She then calls herself Ironheart. Ironheart was first seen by those in attendance at the D23 Expo in September, while the rest of us saw her in the most recent teaser for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, in which she will appear.
Casting announcements for Ironheart have been as popular as the first glimpses. The most recent casting news involved Sonia Denis, along with Manny Montana, Rashida Olayiwola, Alden Ehrenreich, Anthony Ramos, and Lyric Ross. Ramos will play The Hood, the main antagonist of the show, while Ross will play Williams’ best friend.bIron Heart is expected to debut on Disney+ in the fall of 2023, while no particular release date has been confirmed.
