Marvel’s next installment, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, is slated for release later this year. Ahead of its release on Wednesday, Marvel Entertainment released a very brief and mysterious announcement about the film, pulling the “R” logo out of the film’s title and adding that the mystery will be revealed in two days. We’re pretty sure this points to a possible Rihanna song on the movie’s soundtrack.

On Wednesday morning, Marvel Entertainment’s official Instagram page shared a small video with the film’s title formed against a black background, followed by The Forever’s R in large letters in the center. Below that is the date 10/28/22 (October 28, 2022). The post was titled “Wakanda Forever” and was preceded by an eye emoji.

The post itself wasn’t very revealing, but fans took this as confirmation of rumors that Rihanna would be performing a song from the film’s soundtrack. Rumors returned last week after some outlets reported that Rihanna had recorded songs for the sequel.

In Wakanda Forever, a new Black Panther takes on his T’Challa mantle. Actor Chadwick Boseman, who played a role in the first film, passed away in 2020 after a long battle with cancer. The film also introduces a new threat to the Marvel Universe. It’s Namor the Submariner, played by Mexican actor Tenoch Huerta.
