The finest thing to happen to our generation is that Ariana Grande will appear in the Wicked movie adaptation. To further pique our interest in the movie, Ari has completely changed her appearance by going blonde. For her part as Glenda in Wicked, Ariana, a lifelong brunette who is rarely seen without her high ponytail, has changed her hair color to champagne blonde. Even her eyebrows have been colored to match!
In an Oct. 26 Instagram image of herself, the 29-year-old unveiled a new blonde style with her newly lightened locks pulled back into a traditional ponytail. She joked about the photo’s caption, “New earrings.”Fans expressed their love for Ariana by commenting, “I’m obsessed,” “My gasp!” and “just shed a tear.” At the same time, director Jon M. Chu, who is directing the film adaptation of the musical Wicked, in which Ariana will act as Glinda, did mention her accouterments, saying, “Her earrings look wonderful.”
In her “thank u, next” phase, when she emulated Regina George for her Mean Girls-inspired song video, Ariana last had blonde hair. Ari posted a side-profile photo on Instagram with the message, “New earrings,” but it’s clear that nobody is now admiring the stunning pearls she wore. The new appearance is popular with Arianators, who wrote: “She’s serving, your honor!” and “Excuse me, blonde!” “Ohh hey old buddy,” said celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton, while another acquaintance referred to her as a “Moon goddess.”
After beginning her career in theatre, Ariana has admitted she has a musical addiction, so it was only fitting that she takes on the part of Glinda in Wicked. The Wizard of Oz witches’ tale will be told in the movie, which is presently being filmed in London and stars Cynthia Erivo. In 2003, the US hosted the world debut of Wicked the Musical, which continues to run in theatres today.
