Before the movie’s November 11 theatrical release, a new teaser trailer for Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has been made available. The Twitter video teases an action-packed sequel with both new and old cast members joining up to defend Wakanda in war. Following the last movie’s events, a new threat is revealed in the most recent Wakanda Forever teaser trailer. The forty-five-second teaser video begins with a sight of the aquatic monarch Namor (Tenoch Huerta) rising, followed by the foreboding phrase “He’s coming.”

In the teaser, Namor is shown rushing into battle and demolishing an airship with a single blow of his staff, giving the impression that he will be the major antagonist in the sequel. But when he is subsequently depicted being assaulted in the same way, the weapon breaks on his back, leaving no wound or other indication of harm and a warning that he will not be taken down easily. He declares, “Wakanda will fall without the Black Panther.” M’Baku (Winston Duke) says, looking quite uneasy, “That can’t be good.” The teaser also features a scenario in which Namor attacks the royal room while Ramonda (Angela Bassett) and Riri (Dominique Thorne) are present to witness the conflict.

In the same vein, the teaser trailer makes it clear that the Wakandans won’t give up. “Go forward!” Riri screams in her armor as she prepares to fly into battle. She is not the only one prepared for combat; Lupita Nyong’o’s Nakia is also seen in armor, ready to take on Namor and his army. The teaser trailer honors the late Chadwick Boseman, who portrayed King T’challa in the film, however, like other teasers, it is unclear who will be playing the title role. A brief view of the burial procession is seen, with T’challa’s sister, Shuri (Letitia Wright), shown carrying her brother’s helmet while dressed in white for the occasion.

It was previously said that a new character will assume the role of the Black Panther in his honor, replacing Boseman’s T’challa. Since then, there have been rumors that Shuri may be assuming her brother’s responsibilities for defending her nation; however, neither Marvel Studios nor the new teaser has officially confirmed this. Ramonda says, “Now is our chance to strike,” and viewers do see a peek of the new Black Panther, complete with the character’s razor-sharp claws.
