TV Line reports that the coming-of-age drama As We See It won’t be returning for a second season on Prime Video. The Israeli television series On the Spectrum, which focused on three young adults with autism spectrum disorders, served as the inspiration for the eight-episode show, which made its debut in January. The streaming behemoth’s representatives have declined to comment on the decision’s motivations.

In As We See It, three roommates who are autistic strive to navigate a society that is frequently unaccustomed to their difficulties. The series, an emotional rollercoaster, is centred on young adults in their twenties who are dealing with the same everyday problems including finding jobs, making friends, and falling in love. With the aid of their family and caregivers, they work to make the most of their strange situation in a distinct yet beautiful environment. A wonderful spectacle is created by their display of camaraderie and the dynamics of their separate paths to acceptance.

Rick Glassman, Sue Ann Pien, and Albert Rutecki as Violet, Jack and Harrison all appear in the series respectively. They play the three roommates who serve as the central characters of much of the narrative. They are assisted by Sosie Bacon, who plays Mandy, Chris Pang, who plays Van, Violet’s brother, and Joe Mantegna, who plays Lou, Jack’s father. The show also includes neurodiverse authors and staff members in addition to neurodiverse actors.

The decision by the streaming giant was made just after the first season of the Lord of the Rings prequel Rings of Power, which is slated to last for five seasons, ended. Given that the series received an excellent 90 percent rating from critics and a 90 percent score from fans on Rotten Tomatoes, Amazon’s decision to end the series likely be welcomed with varied reactions.
