The project’s originator and showrunner will be Deborah Cahn. Deborah Cahn is currently one of the creators with overall deals with Netflix as well. The Showtime series Homeland, the FX limited series Fosse/Verdon, and the ABC series Grey’s Anatomy are just a few of the popular shows that Cahn has worked on during the past 20 years.
The project has Simon Cellan Jones, a British director, involved. The eminent filmmaker has worked on numerous film and TV productions. Where is The Diplomat now in production?
Filming began in mid-April 2022 and was scheduled to end in September or October 2022, according to production schedules seen by What’s on Netflix, but will almost probably extend beyond that date. Because the show is set in the United Kingdom, much of the filming is taking place there. It is unknown whether the show is being shot at Netflix’s Shepperton Studios.
According to one casting call, filming will take place until November 2022. Furthermore, it appears that the series will be shot in Île-de-France.
