Ella the AI Stylist Brings Rental, Resale & Retail Together in One Outfit Assistant
The fashion world just got a smarter stylist—one that knows where to click, tap, or swipe. On September 4, 2025, luxury membership platform Vivrelle revealed Ella, an AI-powered virtual stylist developed in partnership with retailers Revolve and FWRD. As one of the first collaborations to unite rental, resale, and retail offerings under one AI system, Ella represents a new era in how customers can discover and build outfits.
Ella works like a savvy personal shopper across platforms. Say you're packing for a bachelorette weekend or a getaway—just ask Ella, and it will comb through inventories from Vivrelle, Revolve, and FWRD to craft stylish suggestions. The magic doesn’t stop there. With Ella, you add everything to one cart on Vivrelle—no juggling multiple checkouts.
This isn’t Vivrelle’s first AI venture. Earlier this year, it piloted Complete the Look, a tool offering outfit suggestions at checkout. But Ella steps up—planning complete looks ahead of time through conversational prompts. “Ella has been in the works for quite some time,” said Vivrelle CEO and co-founder Blake Geffen. Building it took approximately a year, underscoring the thought—and tech—behind the user experience.
Vivrelle’s strategy speaks volumes. Fresh off a $62 million Series C funding round, the company is pushing hard to redefine omnichannel shopping. Integrating rental, resale, and retail through Ella aims to offer unparalleled flexibility—whether users want to rent a designer piece, buy vintage, or pick something new. “We’re giving our members as much flexibility and options as possible to shop or borrow with ease, through seamless conversations that allow you to share as little or as much as you want, just like talking to a live stylist,” Geffen explained.
This kind of integration wasn’t just a dream—it’s decades in the making. As far back as Clueless in 1995, movies imagined digital stylists. Now, AI is closing the gap between fantasy and front-door delivery. Ella may just be the smartest fashion assistant yet—tailored, conversational, and personalized.
