Dua Lipa Confirms Engagement to Callum Turner
Pop superstar Dua Lipa, 29, officially confirmed her engagement to British actor Callum Turner, 35, in a heartfelt interview with British Vogue for its July cover. “Yeah, we’re engaged,” she shared with interviewer Gaby Wood. Lipa described their bond as a decision to “grow old together ... be best friends forever,” calling their commitment “very exciting”.
Turner reportedly had the engagement ring custom-designed, collaborating with Lipa’s sister, Rina, and close friends to ensure it truly reflected her personality. “I’m obsessed with it … It’s so me,” she gushed. Experts estimate the ring features a large natural diamond—potentially 2½ to 4 carats—with a wide cigar band, valued between $65,000 and $270,000.
Their relationship began with a serendipitous meeting at The River Café in London, introduced by co-founder Ruth Rogers. A year later, they reconnected by chance in Los Angeles and discovered they were both reading Trust by Hernan Diaz—a shared moment Lipa described as “destined”. The couple made their debut in January 2024 and went Instagram official in July at Glastonbury Festival. Other public sightings included a Met Gala red carpet appearance earlier this year.
While no wedding date is set, the couple is prioritizing their busy schedules: Lipa is touring globally with her Radical Optimism tour, and Turner is filming for upcoming projects including Atropia and the Neuromancer TV adaptation. “We’re just enjoying this period,” Lipa said, adding that she hasn’t yet envisioned what kind of bride she’d be—but the question has begun to spark her imagination.
Born in 1990 in London, Turner began his career as a model before transitioning to acting. He earned acclaim in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald and Masters of the Air, earning a BAFTA nomination for The Capture. His current and upcoming roles range from war satire to sci-fi adaptations.
During the Vogue interview, Lipa reflected on the depth of their connection: “This decision to grow old together ... it’s a really special feeling.” She admitted that engagement had brought new clarity: “I’ve never been someone who’s really thought about a wedding,” but now she’s curious about what she’d wear and what life could look like.
