Charli XCX Joins Ariana Grande’s Viral ‘Domingo’ Sketch on SNL with Julia Fox Cameo
Charli XCX showcased her comedic skills on the November 16 episode of Saturday Night Live (SNL), where she took on the dual roles of both host and musical guest. The 32-year-old singer impressed fans not just with her musical talent, but also her sharp humor in a variety of sketches.
One standout moment was her appearance in a new version of the viral “Domingo” sketch, originally seen when Ariana Grande hosted SNL on October 12. In this updated version, titled "Babymoon," Charli XCX joined a group of bridesmaids at a baby shower for a pregnant bride, played by Chloe Fineman. The comedic song performed by Charli and the SNL cast was hilariously off-key, including the line, "We say, ‘Kelsey get off your phone,’ cause we know who she’s texting! D-O-M-I-N-G-O," hinting at a potential love triangle involving the character's baby father, just like in Grande's skit. The sketch took an amusing jab at Domingo, the character both skits referenced.
As for her musical performances, Charli XCX delivered "360", a track from her Brat album, which featured a cameo from Julia Fox, who introduced the song. The lyrics "I'm everywhere, I'm so Julia" playfully reference Fox, making the performance a fun nod to the actress. Charli also performed "Sympathy is a Knife", another hit from Brat, which notably features a remix with Ariana Grande.
Charli’s comedic talent shone in sketches as well. In “Wicked Auditions,” she played Adele, auditioning for the new movie Wicked, and in another sketch, she impersonated Victoria Beckham in a Thanksgiving special. This marked Charli XCX’s third time on SNL as a musical guest, following her previous appearances in 2014 and 2022.
Beyond her SNL appearance, Charli recently wrapped up her Sweat Tour with Troye Sivan and released a remix of her Brat album, featuring collaborations with Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, and Lorde.
