PepsiCo Plans Additional $400 Million Investment in Two New Plants in Vietnam

PepsiCo Inc, a prominent U.S. food and beverage manufacturer, has announced a substantial investment of an additional $400 million in Vietnam. This investment is aimed at establishing two new manufacturing facilities in the country, both of which will be powered by renewable energy sources. The decision to expand its presence in Vietnam comes as part of PepsiCo’s strategic growth plan and reflects its commitment to furthering its operations in the region.

The announcement coincided with the visit of delegations representing more than 60 U.S. enterprises, including Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam Beverage, who were in Vietnam for a three-day work visit. This visit underscores the growing interest of American businesses in Vietnam’s vibrant market and favorable investment climate.

According to reports from the Vietnamese government, PepsiCo’s investment will be directed towards the construction of two state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities. One of these plants will focus on beverage manufacturing and will be located in southern Long An province, with an estimated investment exceeding $300 million. The second facility will be dedicated to food processing and will be situated in northern Ha Nam province, with an investment of around $90 million. These investments signify PepsiCo’s long-term commitment to expanding its manufacturing capabilities in Vietnam and meeting the rising demand for its products in the region.

While specific details regarding the timeline for the commissioning of these new facilities were not provided in the initial report, it was revealed that PepsiCo had previously obtained an investment certificate for the Ha Nam factory. This facility was slated to commence operations in the third quarter of 2025, indicating a strategic timeline for PepsiCo’s expansion plans in Vietnam.

PepsiCo’s decision to invest in Vietnam underscores the country’s attractiveness as a key market for multinational corporations seeking to capitalize on its growing consumer base and favorable business environment.
