The Mega Millions jackpot for the upcoming Friday drawing has surged to $228 million following the absence of a jackpot winner in Tuesday’s draw. The winning numbers were drawn around 11 p.m. ET on Tuesday, and despite the anticipation, the jackpot remained unclaimed.

Had a fortunate player secured the $202 million Mega Millions jackpot on Tuesday, they could have opted for an estimated $91.6 million payout after taxes. However, luck did not favor any individual to claim the grand prize.

A notable win took place a few weeks earlier when a player in New Jersey clinched the first Mega Millions jackpot of the year, amounting to a staggering $1.13 billion.

For the latest draw on Tuesday, April 23, the winning numbers were revealed as follows: 11, 17, 33, 39, 43, with the Mega Ball being 14, and the Megaplier set at 4X. Although no jackpot winner emerged, a ticket holder in North Carolina managed to secure the Match 5 + Megaplier prize of $4 million. Additionally, four tickets scored the $1 million Match 5 reward, with one sold in California, two in Florida, and one in North Carolina.

As the Mega Millions frenzy continues, interested participants can purchase tickets from local convenience stores, gas stations, or grocery stores. In select states, tickets are also available for purchase online. To play, individuals must select six numbers, with five white balls ranging from 1 to 70 and one gold Mega Ball from 1 to 25. For those who prefer random selections, opting for a “Quick Pick” or “Easy Pick” allows the computer to generate numbers automatically.

To enhance potential winnings, players have the option to add the “Megaplier” for an additional $1, which can multiply non-grand prize winnings by two, three, four, or five times. The Megaplier is drawn before the Mega Millions numbers on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Tickets can be obtained in person from various outlets, including gas stations, convenience stores, grocery stores, and select airport terminals. Additionally, online ticket purchases are facilitated through Jackpocket, the official digital lottery courier of the USA TODAY Network, in several states and territories.

For those looking to participate in the Mega Millions excitement, purchasing tickets is just a few clicks away, offering the chance to potentially join the ranks of jackpot winners.
