Americans for Prosperity (AFP), a conservative political action committee supported by Charles Koch, launched a significant advertising campaign on Monday, targeting President Biden’s economic policies.

The campaign, dubbed “Bidenomics,” criticizes the president’s approach, attributing high prices and economic challenges to his policies. AFP’s Vice President, Akash Chougule, stated, “President Biden will try to paint a rosy picture about Bidenomics in his State of the Union this week, but it’s no use pretending high prices are someone else’s fault.”

Chougule emphasized that the increased costs are a result of Biden’s expansive government spending initiatives. The ad campaign spans digital, television, and physical platforms in the Washington, D.C., area, coinciding with Biden’s upcoming State of the Union address. Additionally, it includes ongoing digital and mail outreach, door-to-door canvassing, and phone calls.

A central feature of the campaign is the website Bidenomics.com, which AFP claims provides insight into the realities of the president’s policies, contrasting with the narrative presented by the administration. The initiative aims to convey discontent with “Bidenomics” and mobilize opposition to Biden’s economic agenda.

Despite the White House’s efforts to highlight positive economic indicators such as reduced inflation, historic low unemployment rates, and the avoidance of a recession, President Biden has received low ratings on the economy in polls.

The administration has occasionally embraced the “Bidenomics” message to showcase the president’s economic management. However, GOP critics have seized on the term to criticize Biden’s policies.

According to a recent survey conducted by The Associated Press and the NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, only 34 percent of voters approve of Biden’s handling of the economy.
