Talisa Garcia to be the first Trans Actress cast in Lucasfilm’s Willow series

Lucasfilm cast their first-ever Trans Actress, Talisa Garcia in the new upcoming project ‘Willow. It will be the first time any Transgender actress will join the cast of the production of Lucasfilm, as reported by Deadline. In February, Lucasfilm’s parent company, Disney, was accused of sponsoring Florida’s HB 1557, the state’s anti-LGBTQ+ legislation. Garcia was a “Willow” cast member before Disney’s “Don’t Say Gay” legislation came under fire.

Willow is the sequel to the 1988 fantasy-adventure film of the same name. The movie was created by Star Wars creator George Lucas and directed by Ron Howard. The story follows the farmer and aspiring magician as he seeks to protect an infant child from a dictatorial queen. Starring It’s been a year since the movie was released. It will be interesting to see the follow-up show and how the writers will amend the script. Warwick Davis will return with his character, Willow Ufgood and Garcia will play a role of a princess who assembles a party to join her on her quest to rescue her twin brother. Thus, as per the reports from Deadline, Talisa will be in the role of princess and mother of Tony Revolori’s character.

According to recent reports, the movie is still under production but it can knock on your screen any time soon. It was predicted to be released somewhere around 2022. Garcia’s role in the series might be short, she might appear in only one episode of the show. This is not the first time a Transgender actor is appearing in any of the Marvel movies. Earlier in 2019, Marvel Studios introduced its first Transgender actor Zach Barack in Spider-Man. In 2021, Patti Harrison, Raya, And The Last Dragon actress became the first known transgender actor to be cast as a character in a Disney movie.
