Beth Behrs Grateful for ‘The Neighborhood’ Finale After No Closure for ‘2 Broke Girls’
Beth Behrs Reflects on ‘The Neighborhood’ Ending and the Importance of a Proper Goodbye
Beth Behrs is embracing the bittersweet end of The Neighborhood, expressing her gratitude for the opportunity to properly bid farewell to her character—something she never got to do with 2 Broke Girls.
CBS Renews ‘The Neighborhood’ for Eighth and Final Season
CBS recently announced that The Neighborhood will return for its eighth and final season. Unlike her previous hit sitcom, 2 Broke Girls, which was abruptly canceled in 2017, Behrs now has the chance to say goodbye on her own terms.
Taking to Instagram, the actress shared her appreciation for the show’s journey and the opportunity for closure.
“Most of my 20s were on 2 Broke Girls, almost all of my 30s were on The Neighborhood, and I’ll usher in my 40s as we end our story,” she wrote.
A Heartfelt Goodbye to ‘The Neighborhood’
Behrs, who plays Gemma Johnson alongside co-stars Max Greenfield, Tichina Arnold, and Cedric the Entertainer, expressed how much this final season means to her. Having spent nearly a decade on the series, she reflected on its impact on her life and career.
“These have been some of the most memorable years of my life,” she shared. “We made it through COVID, strikes, elections… and came out stronger.”
She also acknowledged the resilience of the cast and crew, expressing her appreciation for everyone who contributed to the show’s success.
“Forever grateful to our entire cast and crew. Here’s to the best season yet! Season 8, let’s gooooo.”
The Abrupt Ending of ‘2 Broke Girls’ Still Lingers
Before joining The Neighborhood, Behrs was best known for her role as Caroline Channing in 2 Broke Girls. The hit CBS sitcom, which co-starred Kat Dennings, followed two struggling waitresses trying to start a cupcake business while navigating financial hardships.
Despite being a fan-favorite, 2 Broke Girls was unexpectedly canceled in 2017 after six successful seasons. CBS’s decision not to renew the show left the cast and fans without a proper send-off. Unlike The Neighborhood, there was no final episode to wrap up storylines, making the sudden cancellation even more disappointing.
