Beloved TV Dad Victor Baxter in Hospital: Rondell Sheridan Launches GoFundMe After Health Crisis

TV Legend Battling Serious Health Crisis

Rondell Sheridan, best known for playing the hilarious and lovable Victor Baxter—Raven’s dad on That’s So Raven—is facing a serious medical emergency. The 65-year-old actor has been hospitalized twice since April 2025 with a severe case of pancreatitis, a painful and potentially dangerous condition that affects the pancreas.

Due to his illness, Sheridan has been unable to work for weeks, and he has now taken to social media to ask fans for support through a GoFundMe page.

I Can’t Work, and I Need Help: Sheridan’s Emotional Plea

In a heartfelt video shared from his hospital bed, Rondell addressed his fans directly. Clearly emotional but filled with gratitude, the actor explained his condition and why he’s now turning to the public for assistance.

“I’ve been in the hospital twice now… I haven’t been able to work since April 12,” Sheridan said in the clip. “This isn’t easy to say, but I’ve launched a GoFundMe to help cover my medical expenses.”

The goal? $35,000. And the good news is, as of the time of his video, fans and supporters have already helped raise $25,000 — showing just how beloved Sheridan still is.

Two Hospital Stays in a Month

According to his friend Isabel Beyoso, who helped launch the GoFundMe, Sheridan’s condition is extremely serious. In the campaign’s description, Beyoso wrote:

“Rondell has been admitted to the hospital twice in the last month due to a very severe case of pancreatitis… He has not been able to work and won’t be returning to work for the foreseeable future.”

Pancreatitis is a condition where the pancreas becomes inflamed, leading to intense pain, digestive problems, and sometimes life-threatening complications. Unfortunately, doctors still don’t know exactly how long it will take for Sheridan to recover.

Bedridden and Under Observation

Currently, Sheridan remains bedridden. Doctors are monitoring him closely, but there’s not much they can do until the inflammation subsides. Sheridan explained:

“There’s really no treatment — we just have to wait. I’m on a strict diet, and the hospital is watching everything closely.”

The TV star said he’s trying to remain hopeful, and while it's been tough to ask for help, he’s overwhelmed by the support from his fans and friends. Beyoso concluded the GoFundMe note with:

“Every little bit helps, and he appreciates you immensely.”

Support Pours in From Fans and Friends

As word of Sheridan’s health scare spread, fans have been quick to donate and send messages of love and encouragement. Many remember his iconic roles not just in That’s So Raven, but across a wide range of beloved shows.

Why the Fundraiser Matters

Many people assume TV actors are financially set for life. But the reality is, unless an actor is consistently working or receiving royalties from major syndications, they can face real financial challenges — especially when hit with unexpected medical emergencies.

Sheridan has been unable to work since mid-April, and with hospitalization and long-term recovery ahead, the bills are piling up.

The $35,000 goal on GoFundMe is meant to cover:

  • Hospital stays
  • Medications
  • Follow-up care
  • Living expenses during recovery

How You Can Help

If you’ve ever laughed at a Victor Baxter one-liner or cheered on Raven’s wild visions, now’s your chance to give back. Sheridan’s GoFundMe is still active, and he’s counting on his fan base to help him get through this tough time.

“I’ve always tried to bring joy and laughter,” Sheridan said in his video. “Now I need a little help to heal.”

Every donation—big or small—makes a difference.

What Is Pancreatitis

For those unfamiliar with the condition, pancreatitis occurs when the pancreas becomes inflamed. It can be acute (sudden and intense) or chronic (long-lasting). Symptoms often include:
