Bam Margera Declares He's Done With Jackass: “The Damage Has Been Done”
Bam Margera Ends Any Hope for a Jackass Reunion
Bam Margera, the skateboarding star and veteran of MTV’s Jackass and Viva La Bam, has firmly ruled out returning to the franchise. In a new interview, he reflected on the fallout after being cut from Jackass Forever, saying his ties with Johnny Knoxville and the Dickhouse crew are irreparable: “You couldn't offer me enough money to want to do another Jackass with them. The damage has been done.”
Why the Rift? Resentment, Legal Battles, and Rehab
Margera’s exclusion from Jackass Forever reportedly followed a failed Adderall drug test—violating what he called a manipulative “Wellness Agreement.” He later filed a wrongful termination lawsuit against Paramount, Knoxville, and co-creator Jeff Tremaine, accusing them of psychological mistreatment. His frustration has turned into a resolute distancing from the group.
No Revival of Viva La Bam Either
Margera also dismissed any chance of reviving his pranks-based reality show Viva La Bam. He explained that the concept no longer fits his life as a married father: returning to live with his parents and recreate old antics just feels strange after so many years. “It would just be weird,” he added.
Skateboarding as Therapy and Creative Outlet
Rather than reliving his past, Margera has shifted focus toward sobriety and personal growth. He highlighted skateboarding as therapeutic: “As long as I do a trick a day, it keeps my sanity sane.” He even returned as a playable character in Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3+4, reflecting his reconnection to creative passions outside the stunt world.
A Legacy Tarnished by Conflict
Margera once thrived in the chaotic energy of early 2000s stunt culture, but personal and legal struggles cast long shadows over his legacy. Forced rehab, ongoing lawsuits, and exclusion from the casts that once made him famous have left deep emotional scars. His outspoken refusal to participate in any future collaborations marks a definitive break.
What Lies Ahead for Bam Margera
Looking forward, Margera sees himself moving in a new direction—centered around family, recovery, and skate culture. He's embraced his role in Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3+4 and continues to pursue stability and creative output in more grounded ways. He has no interest in reliving the stunt-heavy past and is focused on forging a quieter, more fulfilled path.
