Arsenal Confirm Odegaard and Rice in Starting Lineup for Chelsea Clash

Martin Ødegaard is set to make his first start for Arsenal since August, leading the team as captain against Chelsea in today’s London derby. The Norwegian midfielder, who suffered an ankle injury during international duty, missed 12 games but returned to training this week. After a brief appearance against Inter Milan on Tuesday, he’s now ready to start alongside Declan Rice in midfield. Rice, who was also absent from the Inter match with a toe injury, has now fully recovered, marking the two changes for Arsenal from their previous lineup.

Leandro Trossard and Mikel Merino will shift to the bench, while Raheem Sterling is ineligible to play against his parent club. Chelsea, meanwhile, have made only one adjustment from their 1-1 Premier League draw with Manchester United last weekend, with Marc Cucurella replacing Reece James at left-back.

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has rotated his lineup after a dominant 8-0 victory over Noah in the Conference League, fielding an entirely different starting XI today. Notably, Cole Palmer has been cleared to start after a week of missed training, but Jaydon Sancho remains sidelined due to injury.

Starting Line-ups:

Chelsea:
Goalkeeper: Sanchez
Defenders: Gusto, Fofana, Colwill, Cucurella
Midfielders: Caicedo, Lavia, Madueke, Palmer, Neto
Forward: Jackson
Subs: Jorgensen, James, Badiashile, Adarabioyo, Veiga, Fernandez, Nkunku, Mudryk, Felix

Arsenal:
Goalkeeper: Raya
Defenders: White, Saliba, Gabriel, Timber
Midfielders: Partey, Rice, Ødegaard
Forwards: Saka, Martinelli, Havertz
Subs: Neto, Zinchenko, Lewis-Skelly, Kiwior, Jorginho, Merino, Nwaneri, Trossard, Jesus

With both sides bringing key players back from injury and looking to improve after recent results, the stage is set for an intense showdown at Stamford Bridge.
