The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced today that legendary actress Juanita Moore will be posthumously honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Her star will be in the category of Motion Pictures, and the ceremony will take place early 2025.

Moore was one of the Hollywood icons, best known for her legendary film performances: Imitation of Life (1959) and A Patch of Blue (1965). She also disintegrated many racial stereotypes in many of her performances.

"Juanita Moore was one true trailblazer," stated Rana Suh, President of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. "Her talent and commitment to her craft paved the way for countless other Black actors. It is an honor to recognize her contributions to the entertainment industry with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame."

Moore's career spanned decades, and she appeared in scores of films, television shows, and theater productions. She received an Academy Award nomination for Imitation of Life, and took home a Golden Globe Award for her work on the television program The Defenders.

Moore's star will be located at 6801 Hollywood Boulevard. The ceremony is open and fans are encouraged to come and celebrate the life and legacy of this iconic actress who has given so much to our culture.
