A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder Season 2: Filming Begins and Pip’s New Case Gets Darker

Teen detective Pip Fitz-Amobi is back — and this time, the mystery cuts even deeper. Production has officially kicked off for Season 2 of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, the hit YA thriller that took Netflix by storm in 2024. After cracking the infamous Andie Bell case in Season 1, Pip is about to face a new challenge — and it’s going to test her like never before.

Behind the Scenes: Pip and Cara Return to Set

Netflix just released a sneak peek from the set, showing stars Emma Myers (Pip) and Asha Banks (Cara) reuniting with smiles, laughter, and a whole new mystery to solve. Author Holly Jackson, who wrote the bestselling book series the show is based on, is back on board — this time co-writing the show with returning screenwriter Poppy Cogan.

As Emma and Asha described it: “Season 2 is a healthy dose of murder and mayhem.” Expect nothing less.

What Is Season 2 About?

A Missing Witness. A Dangerous Trial. A Good Girl Gone Rogue?

In Season 1, Pip uncovered the truth behind Andie Bell’s disappearance, proving that Sal Singh was innocent. But that case came with consequences — for Pip, her friends, and her town.

Now, in Season 2, based on Holly Jackson’s second book Good Girl, Bad Blood, Pip wants nothing to do with mysteries anymore. But trouble finds her again.

Just before Max Hastings’ trial (remember him from Season 1?), Jamie Reynolds, a key witness, suddenly vanishes. With time running out and the stakes higher than ever, Pip is dragged back into investigation mode — but this time, she’s not the same wide-eyed sleuth. She’s darker. She’s edgier. And justice might not be as black and white as she once believed.

Who’s in the Cast for Season 2?

Confirmed returning cast members include:

  • Emma Myers (Wednesday, Family Switch) as Pippa “Pip” Fitz-Amobi
  • Zain Iqbal as Ravi Singh
  • Asha Banks as Cara Ward

Additional casting news is still under wraps, but expect several fan favorites from Little Kilton to return — and maybe some new suspicious faces.

Holly Jackson Takes the Lead

For fans of the books, there’s more good news: Holly Jackson is now officially part of the writing team for the series.

“I am BEYOND thrilled that we can continue Pip’s story and, this time, I’m writing on the show!”

Screenwriter Poppy Cogan is also back, bringing her sharp adaptation skills and suspenseful flair from Season 1.

“I’m delighted to be back in Little Kilton with Pip and friends for Season 2,” said Cogan.

Recap: What Happened in Season 1?

Here’s a quick refresher for anyone who needs it:

Five years ago, high school student Andie Bell went missing. Her boyfriend Sal Singh was blamed — and he died under suspicious circumstances. But teen detective Pip Fitz-Amobi wasn’t convinced. Over the course of six tense episodes, she investigated the case, uncovering shocking secrets, corrupt characters, and the real truth behind Andie’s disappearance.

By the finale, Pip had cleared Sal’s name, shaken her entire town, and started something she couldn’t walk away from. The season ended with Pip emotionally worn, morally challenged — and in a complicated new relationship with Sal’s brother, Ravi.

What’s Next for Pip and Ravi?

Fans are dying to know: Will Pip and Ravi’s relationship survive the new investigation?

They were the heart of Season 1 — from reluctant allies to romantic interests. But with another mystery looming, and Pip heading into darker territory, the real question is whether they’ll even make it out together.

Where and When Can You Watch Season 2?

Season 2 will be available:

  • Globally on Netflix (excluding the UK, Ireland, Germany, Australia, and New Zealand)
  • In the UK and Ireland on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer

As of now, there’s no confirmed release date, but with filming underway, it’s likely we’ll see new episodes drop sometime in late 2025.

Why Fans Can’t Wait

Season 1 was a breakout success, debuting at #1 on Netflix’s Global Top 10 English TV List. It struck a chord with teens, mystery lovers, and fans of smart female leads.

With Emma Myers’ breakout performance, a gripping new case, and Holly Jackson’s direct involvement, Season 2 is shaping up to be even more addictive.

A Good Girl Gone Bad?

Season 2 promises to show us a new side of Pip. She’s no longer just a curious teen trying to solve a mystery — she’s someone who knows how dark the truth can be. And this time, it might cost her more than she bargained for.
