The Massacre at Hawkins Lab (Season 4,Episode 7) 

Vecna, whose full background is revealed in this Season 4 episode, is "Stranger Things'" most complex foe yet. With acrobatic ease, "The Massacre at Hawkins Lab" juggles the present-day plotlines with flashbacks.

 The Bite (Season 3, Episode 7)

In the subsequent episode, Robin and Steve vomit their guts out and have a long overdue heart-to-heart in a Starcourt Mall restroom after being drugged and interrogated by Russian soldiers.

"The Piggyback," a soul-crushing emotional anvil, was created over the course of four seasons. To say that the Season 4 finale is flawlessly designed is not an exaggeration.

E Pluribus Unum (Season 3, Episode 6) 

In "E Pluribus Unum," the show elevates creature design to a completely new level. The Mind Flayer occupies locals as it progressively gathers victims, melting their bones into a massive, quivering mass.

 The Sauna Test (Season 3, Episode 4) 

With "The Sauna Test," Max and the group come up with a scheme to entice Billy, who they believe is under the control of the Mind Flayer, into the sauna room of the pool.

 The Mall Rats (Season 3, Episode 2)

In the Season 3 premiere, Billy's future is left unresolved, and in "The Mall Rats," we learn that he has been taken over by the Mind Flayer and must carry out his instructions.
