The teaser trailer for Netflix’s upcoming thriller The School for Good and Evil, starring Charlize Theron and Kerry Washington, has been revealed.
The film is based on Soman Chainani’s book of the same name and stars Washington as a professor and Theron as the headmaster of a mysterious institution.
The first teaser trailer for the film has appeared as part of Netflix’s Geeked Week.
Sophie (Sophia Anne Caruso) and Agatha (Sofia Wylie), two outcasts and best friends in the village of Gavaldon, share the unlikeliest of ties.
Then, one night, under a blood-red moon, a tremendous force whisks them away to the School for Good and Evil, where the true story of every great fairy tale begins.
As if navigating courses with Cinderella, Captain Hook, and the gorgeous son of King Arthur (Jamie Flatters) wasn’t difficult enough, the Schoolmaster (Laurence Fishburne) claims that only true love’s kiss can change the regulations and send the girls to their proper school.
When a dark and deadly man (Kit Young) with unexplained ties to Sophie reappears and threatens to destroy the school and the rulebook utterly, the only route to a happy ending is to first escape the fairytale.
Joe Roth, Jeffrey Kirschenbaum, Jane Startz, Paul Feig, and Laura Fischer produce the film, which is executive produced by Stephen Jones, Zack Roth, Chris Castaldi, Soman Chainani, and Patrician Riggen.
But something goes wrong from the start: Sophie is assigned to the School for Evil, which is managed by the fashionable and acid-tongued Lady Lesso (Charlize Theron).
The film has no set release date, however it is part of Netflix’s summer lineup.
