Taylor Swift has a slew of Grammys and a new title: “doctor.” On Wednesday, the celebrity got an honorary degree of fine arts from New York University.

“I went to public high school until 10th grade and then concluded my education doing home school work on the floors of airline terminals,” Swift remarked in her graduation address.

According to the singer-songwriter, producer, and director, she began her music career at the age of 15, travelling various radio stations across the country.

She went on to sell over 100 million albums and become the first woman to win album of the year three times at the 2021 Grammys for her album “folkore.”

Swift provided advise to the class of 2022, but cautioned, “I in no way feel competent to tell you what to do.

The singer also injected some levity into her speech. “I’m 90 percent sure I’m here because I have a song called 22,” Swift joked as she addressed the Class of 2022.

On Instagram, the Grammy winner also shared a clip from the big day. She captioned a video of herself preparing for the event, “wearing a cap and gown for the very first time – see you soon NY.”

Swift offered words of encouragement to students as they went on the next chapter of their lives during her address, while also noting the unconditional support loved ones may have provided along the way.

Swift went on to describe the honour of speaking in front of kids despite the fact that she “never got to have the usual college experience.”

Swift described continuing her education by “doing home school work on the floors of airline terminals” after attending public high school until 10th grade.
