Cillian Murphy Shares His Simple Oscars Ceremony Plan for 2024

The biggest night in the film industry, the 2024 Oscars, is quickly approaching, and celebrities have been preparing for it.

Cillian Murphy has shared his thoughts with everyone regarding his plans for the Oscars evening.

“It’s very, very humbling. I’m kind of a little in shock. It’s just a real honour to be involved in a film that has connected so powerfully with people in a way that we never expected,” Cillian Murphy said.

Oppenheimer, the overwhelming favorite for the 96th Academy Awards, has received high praise from both critics and viewers for its epicness.

Regarding the categories for which the historical epic has been selected, Cillian Murphy is leading the field in the Best Actor category.

The Christopher Nolan-directed film features the actor from Dunkirk as J Robert Oppenheimer, for which he has received a nomination. "I haven't really thought about it, to be honest," the 47-year-old actor said when discussing his prospects of winning the prize.

He doesn't seem to have thought much about taking home the trophy, in contrast to his supporters who are always hoping and praying for him to succeed. But the modest actor has also spoken candidly about having a typical evening.

“I just want to go in and have a good time. I’m sure we’ll have a party of some sort. It’s really not competitive. It might appear that way but it’s really not,” the 28 Days Later actor stated, about winning the Academy Award, during his interview with PEOPLE.

Murphy  continued, “It feels really collegiate. It feels very much like all of us in it together. None of us expected that the film would do so well. The thing that always strikes me is when people come and say they’ve seen the film five or six times, that’s kind of phenomenal and young and old and boys and girls, it’s amazing."
