Savannah Guthrie explains why she wrote her book "Mostly What God Does"

When Savannah Guthrie penned her new book, "Mostly What God Does: Reflections on Seeking and Finding His Love Everywhere," she pushed herself to step outside of her comfort zone and take on an exciting and terrifying task.

For the Christian co-anchor of TODAY, the process was unsettling because she describes herself as an ordinary person rather than a theologian or religious professor.

It was exciting, though, because her faith is a fundamental aspect of who she is.

The Harvard graduate dropped the Obama last name back in January.

The daughter of the former US President was called Malia Ann in the Meet the Artist feature film from Sundance Institute.

"An odd little story, somewhat of a fable, about a man grieving the death of his mother after she leaves him an unusual request in her will," Malia said in her highlight video.

The Heart, a short film by Malia, centers on the deep and nuanced bond between a mother and her kid.

John Weigand, LaTonya Borsay, and Tunde Adebimpe are in the main cast of the movie.

Speaking on TODAY, Savannah Guthrie discusses her book "Mostly What God Does." That's what drives me," the woman remarked. That's what brings me happiness. It is my means of navigating the world, my worries, frustrations, and anxieties."
