Netflix is always looking for new ways to expand its library, and romantic films are one of many areas where it excels. In late 2021, Netflix has commissioned a new title in the genre called A Tourist’s Guide to Love, which will star Rachael Leigh Cook of She’s All That.
Cook came up with the idea for the film, which will be the second Netflix Original she has produced after Love Guaranteed (added to Netflix on September 3rd, 2020).
Eirene Donohue, whose credits include Girls’ Night Out, A Sugar & Spice Holiday, A Christmas Spark, and Christmas Cheer, will pen the script for A Tourist’s Guide to Love.
Cook will both produce and star in the film. Jim Head of Head First Productions will also produce, with Muse Entertainment’s Joel S. Rice and Lydia Storie executive producing.
Steven Tsuchida is in charge of the film’s direction. The director has previously worked on a number of Netflix projects, including episodes of Cobra Kai and The Healing Powers of Dude. On the film front, he directed Resort to Love last year, which will be released in July 2021.
